Account Activation Overview

You need to activate your Rental Bonds Online account before you can utilise the facilities available.

You should have received an email from NSW Fair Trading titled ‘Rental Bonds Online – Premises - ## abcdef street, ABCDEF  NSW  1234 – New Logon’

The email outlines the 3 steps involved in Account Activation.

Step 1. Click the Visit link

Click the link in your email to commence account activation. This will take you to the page where you enter your bond amount.

Step 2. Accept Terms and Conditions

Confirm details of your Bond. If Bond details are incorrect contact your Agent. Read and agree to the Terms and Conditions.

Step 3. Create account and pay the Bond

Have your mobile phone handy.

Create a password and choose security questions.

Enter bank account details for bond refunds.

Enter your contact details. To verify you have entered the correct mobile phone number we will send a SMS code to your mobile phone. Enter this SMS code to continue.

Keep a record of the User ID number displayed on the screen. The user id number and the password you created will be used to log in to Rental Bonds Online.

Pay your bond.

Bond displays under ‘Your Active Bonds’.

Create an Account and Pay Your Bond

Already have a Rental Bonds Online account? Find out about lodging a new bond. It’s described in Link Bond to Existing Account.

 

Transferring from an old paper bond? If you are the nominated principal tenant, find out how to link to the bond. If you already have a Rental Bonds Online account, it’s described in Link Bond to Existing Account, otherwise it’s described in New Principal Tenant - Create Account.

 

 

New to Rental Bonds Online … start here

Lodging a new bond involves several steps. You will be guided through the process including creation of your account and payment of the bond.

 

 

Follow the account setup steps

You will be taken through the steps to create your Rental Bonds Online account. You will need to have the following handy:

  • your bond amount
  • your bank account details as your bond refund will be paid directly into your bank account
  • your mobile phone number and email address as all notifications will be sent to you electronically
  • your mobile phone as you will receive an SMS so that we can confirm your mobile number
  • your Visa or MasterCard number if you intend to pay your bond by Credit card
  • contact details for all co-tenants as they may also receive notifications; you need their email address (mandatory) and mobile phone number (optional)

 

Pay your bond

If you choose to pay with Visa/ MasterCard, a 0.40% surcharge will be added to the payment amount.

If you prefer to pay with BPAY, you will be given a BPAY Biller Code and Reference number to make the payment through your bank.

 

We need to get confirmation that funds have been received via your Visa/ Mastercard or BPAY. Then we will notify your agent and they will arrange for you to sign the tenancy agreement.

After they have finalised the bond, you will receive an Advice of Lodgement in the mail. Your co-tenants will also be notified.

After you have clicked on the email link received, you will land on Create an Account and Pay the Bond page.

Enter Bond Amount

Enter the amount of your bond and click the Continue button. You will be taken to the First Time Setup page.

Step 1. Accept Terms and Conditions

The Rental Bonds Online Terms and Conditions are displayed.

You must tick the box, I have read and agree with the terms and conditions above.

Then click the Continue button to proceed to the next step of the account creation process.

 

Step 2. Password & questions

Next step is to select a password and security questions.

Firstly, create a secure password and re-enter it to confirm. Click on the ? icon to get tips for creating a secure password.

Then, select 2 security questions and enter your answer to each selected question. Tip: keep your answers simple as you must enter the exact text when asked in future.

 

Click the Back button if you wish to return to the previous page.

Click the Exit button to exit from the process.

Click the Continue button to proceed to the next step.

 

Step 3. Refund Account

You need to provide your bank account details as bond refund payments will be made by direct deposit into this account.

Enter your bank account details.

 

Click the Back button if you wish to return to the previous page.

Click the Exit button to exit from the process.

Click the Continue button to proceed to the next step.

 

Step 4. Contact Details

You will be notified regarding actions relating to your account, your bond, as well as any refund claims lodged by you or your agent. You will be notified by both email and SMS.

Enter your mobile number. You will be sent a verification code via SMS. You must enter the code sent to you as this will confirm that we have the correct number.

Enter your email address.

 

You must enter the contact details for each co-tenant listed on your bond. They will receive all notifications regarding the bond.

You must provide:

  • email address (mandatory)
  • mobile number (optional)

Click the Back button if you wish to return to the previous page.

Click the Exit button to exit from the process.

Click the Continue button to proceed to the payment step.

 

You have now created your Rental Bonds Online account.

Your identification number is displayed. Make a note of this number as you will need it to log in to Rental Bonds Online together with the password you created.

 

Step 5. Pay the Bond – Options

You can pay your bond with Visa/ Mastercard or BPAY for Residential Bonds or by BPAY for Retail Bonds.

If you choose to pay with Visa/ MasterCard, a 0.40% surcharge will be added to the payment amount .

The credit card details that you enter in Westpac’s secure card payment gateway shall not be stored by NFT Rental Bonds due to privacy and security reasons.

If you choose to pay with BPAY, it will take a few days before we receive the funds as it depends how long it takes for your bank to process your payment. In the meantime you will not be able to sign your tenancy agreement.

 

Click the Continue button to proceed to the next step.

 

Paying with Visa/MasterCard …Residential Bonds

When you choose to pay your bond with Visa/MasterCard you will be taken to Westpac’s secure card payment gateway provided to Rental Bonds Online.

Your lodgement reference number and the bond amount are automatically filled in.

Enter your card details and click Next.

 

Your payment details will be displayed for you to confirm, including the card surcharge amount.

If you need to go back and change any of the details displayed, click the Back button.

When ok, click Confirm to proceed.

 

On successful payment, the card payment gateway will provide a receipt number followed by your payment details. You should note down this number for future reference.

When ready, click Finish to return to Rental Bonds Online for your official bond receipt.

 

Step 6. Rental Bonds Online Receipt

If the card payment gateway returns indicating your payment was successful, you will be given a Rental Bonds Online receipt.

After getting confirmation of your successful card payment we will notify your agent and they will arrange for you to sign the tenancy agreement.

After they have finalised the bond, you will receive an Advice of Lodgement in the mail. You should contact your agent if it does not arrive within 14 days.

Click Print payment receipt to print your official Rental Bonds Online receipt.

Click Email payment receipt to email your official Rental Bonds Online receipt. The email address defaults to the address you provided. You can email the receipt to a different address if preferred.

Click Exit to finish.

 

Paying with BPAY …Residential and Retail Bonds

When you choose to pay your bond with BPAY you will be taken to a page showing the BPAY Biller Code and Ref number.

Contact your bank to make a BPAY payment with the reference numbers provided. Ensure that you pay the exact amount shown.

 Once we are advised by your bank that payment has been made, we will notify your agent. They will arrange for you to sign the tenancy agreement.

After they have finalised the bond, you will receive an Advice of Lodgement in the mail. You should contact your agent if it does not arrive within 14 days.

Click Print BPAY advice slip to print the advice slip containing the reference numbers.

Click Email BPAY advice slip to email advice slip. The email address defaults to the address you provided to us. You can email it to a different address if preferred.

Click Exit to finish.

New Principal Tenant - Create Account

Your agent has initiated the process to register you as the principal tenant for your bond. You are required to complete the process by accepting the role.

 

You will receive an email with the subject showing your bond’s number and address. It is to inform you that you have been nominated as the principal tenant for your bond.

 

Click the Link in the Email

Click the link in the email to start the process.

Enter your mobile number. You will be sent a verification code via SMS. You must enter the code sent to you as this will confirm that we have the correct number.

Enter your email address.

 

If there are multiple tenants, your bond’s co-tenant will be listed. You must provide the correct contact details for each. They will receive all notifications regarding the bond.

 

The following must be provided:

  • email address (mandatory)
  • mobile number (optional)

You have now created your Rental Bonds Online account.
